Four Historical Wonders To Explore In The City Of Lucknow

Lucknow, considered as one of the significant cities in the Northern region of the country is home to some of the most amazing monuments and structures. Also the capital of Uttar Pradesh, this city of ‘Nawabs’ is created flawlessly with some royal landmarks. The city has been under the rule of different leaders over the time, yet the era of the Nawabs is thought to be the best and the most celebrated one. This historical city stands as the prime spot for exploring rich traditions, culture, music and some fantastic locations. Situated on the banks of Gomti River, the Lucknow city successfully retains the realm of history intermingled with the perfect modern. Bara Imambara – The Bara Imambara is one of the terrific historical spots in the country. This old landmark was set up in the 18th century by the fourth generation of Nawabs of Lucknow. The Bhul bhulaiya, on the upper floor of Bara Imambara has been created as a riddle or a labyrinth to amuse its visitors. One can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from its pinnacle. The visit to Lucknow is incomplete until you’ve not visited the Bara Imambara and Bhool Bhulaiya. The landmark is about 6 km from the Lucknow railway station and 14 km from the airport. 

Jama Masjid – Jama Masjid of Lucknow is a perfect work of architecture. This lovely mosque, established in the 15th century, takes pride in being one of the radiant mosques to be ever built in the country. The design and architecture of the Masjid showcases a blend of Hindu Muslim culture. The masjid is situated quite close to the railway station and it takes about 12-15 km to reach the monument from the airport. 

Chhota Imambara – Also known as the Imambara of Hussainabad, this historic structure was established by Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah in the 19th century. This is another example of architectural brilliance of the craftsmen in the city. The gold plated vaults of vast and little size assumes a key part in pulling in tourists. The Chhota Imambara can be visited from 6 in the morning to 5 in the evening. The Lucknow airport is about 14.5 km away and the railway station is about 7 km away. 

 

Chattar Manzil – Also known as Farhad Baksh, the Chattar Manzil was built by the French in the 18th century on the banks of the river Gomti. The French General, Claude Martin, declared this as a heritage site or his ‘town-house’. The terrific multi-storied building comes with more than 1800 rooms. This is one of the city’s real attractions.
